I was thoroughly impressed at Tuesday’s “Go Figure” Fashion Show put together by the Management and Leadership II students at Phoenix College. Four student designers showed their garments including Galina Mihaleva, Griselda Avalos, Hershel Jackson and Natalia Acosta. The theme for the night, “Go Figure” was a celebration of diversity and fashion figures, with the each designer using models of different ethnicity, size, shape and styles. Like I said, I was thoroughly impressed, especially with each designer’s ability to create for different sizes and shapes, and use a multitude of fabrics and materials including leather, lace, rosettes, buckles, sparkles, feathers, ruffles, jersey, shears - no material was left unused!! Most outfits looked great on the models – the styling, the fit, the finish – and the student models were having a great time presenting the work’s of their peers!
I could show you a million pictures because I think the students presented about 100 looks altogether, but here’s a look at a few of my favorites from each designer…
