Alina Iovita of “Affluent Apparel” and “Saharan Snow” is as a freelance and custom fashion designer based in Scottsdale, but active in the national fashion design industry.
As Affluent Apparel, Alina can design and develop garment collections for fashion brands and fashion retailers. Clients have included design entrepreneurs, sewn product manufacturers and suppliers to retailers. As a freelance designer, Alina created pieces for the Red Hat Society, the national (and adorable!) women’s group that meets for tea in their famous red hats! Too cute!

Saharan Snow
Recently, Alina launched her own line “Saharan Snow” for Spring 2009 and Fall/Winter 2009. Saharan Snow uses organic bamboo and silk modal materials, hand-dyed by Alina herself, to create luxurious, yet casual loungewear. Modal is one of my favorite materials right now – so soft!! Saharan Snow has been available in California and Seattle boutiques, and is now available at local shops including “Femme de Paris” in The Borgata, “Adornment” at the Boulders and “About Face Boutique” in Scottsdale. Dresses vary from $120-$130, tops and pants from $95. Currently, Alina wholesales exclusively to retail boutiques, but will soon offer Saharan Snow online as custom orders.
