Susan Di Staulo is a fashion artistan like no other. She is a fashion designer/illustrator, art educator and model/actress with the local S.I.M. Agency.

Chances are you have seen some of Susan’s amazing fashion illustrations around town. She was chosen as the official illustrator of Scottsdale Fashion Week for both 2007 & 2008, with her illustrations gracing the fashion show tickets, official tote bags, advertisements in Scottsdale Fashion Square and more. At our meeting, she was sweet enough to bring me a signed patent tote bag form 2007! In addition to SFW, Susan has illustrated for notable designers included Debra Davenport and Roche Bobois. Most recently, Susan has been chosen to illustrate for the 2009 Scottsdale Fashion Week and the first annual Arizona Bridal Week, both scheduled for the fall.

Beyond her passion for designing, illustrating and producing exquisite garments, Susan has an inspiring passion for art education. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Arts from Sarah Lawrence College in New York, she went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from the prestigious Parson’s School of Design in New York City. Then, a Master’s Degree in Art Education from Columbia University. Her talent as a fashion designer, coupled with her passion for art education had led her to positions as fashion director for Runway Magazine, a published author of fashion articles and lecturer in Arizona and New York.

As a fashion designer, Susan admires great American designers from past and present including Norma Kamali, Claire McCardell, Ralph Lauren and Narciso Rodriguez. Like these designers, Susan focuses on authenticity and originality of her own designs and illustrations. This year, Susan looks forward to expanding the Susan Di Staulo label, bringing her illustrations to life one impeccable garment at a time. Fashion Phoenix is looking forward to seeing more of Susan Di Staulo in the coming future.
