Weekend Events – Saks, ILORI & Dreamy Fashion Show

Wow! I had a busy, fun Saturday. Hope you did too! If you missed the following events and are wondering how to keep in the loop for next time, visit the Fashion Phoenix events page HERE.  Here’s a recap of the fashionably fun events from the weekend…

First stop, a quick trip to Saks Fifth Avenue at the Biltmore to say hi to Claire Perkins from Arizona Foothills Magazine and check out the “Face of Foothills” contest. I couldn’t stay long and oddly, I didn’t buy a THING – even with the 15% discount of the day!

Next, from the Biltmore I cruised to Scottsdale Fashion Square to investigate the new ILORI sunglass boutique.

Wow! The store is beautiful, the sunglasses are amazing and the staff, headed by my dear friend Jeffrey Evans, is fabulously sweet! I absolutely fell in love with these Dolce & Gabbana jeweled sunglasses for $1200 (of course!). I may or may not be joking when I say this, but I may have to sell some plasma to afford these. Generally, I consider sunglasses more for their function than style, but these are AMAZING! If you see me wearing them, you’ll know why & how!!

Finally, to the Mondrian Hotel for the “Dreamy” Swim & Lingerie show.  A few confessions about the show – 1. This was my first trip to the Mondrian. Loved it! 2. This was my first “lingerie” show and I was nervous that it would take a riske turn. 3. I had A LOT of fun, despite the heat!

Before the show, I had a chance to chat with Grant Harrison, Sales Director for Dreamy. He told me Dreamy is a collection of Peruvian lingerie and swimwear. The show Saturday night celebrated the launch of Dreamy in to both Phoenix and the US market. The crowd was mostly comprised of buyer and boutique owners who may be interested in carrying the pieces or just learning about this new company.  What’s the message I’m spoon feeding here?? A fashion show, done well, is a great marketing tool. This show was great, styled and directed by Nelson Hawks with beautiful models from S.I.M Agency. Enjoy!!
