Geoffrey Beene: Inside Out – Wednesday, February 3 at 7 p.m.
Dennita Sewell, curator of fashion design, takes an in-depth look at Beene’s understanding of human anatomy and how he applied his own design principals to cutting and shaping fabric. Illustrated examples of the interior of some of the works in “Geoffrey Beene: Trapeze” show how their construction relates to the human form.
The talk is followed by the short film “The Geoffrey Beene Scholar Award”Geo, which features interviews with Mr. Beene about his educational initiative with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Join us for Q&A with Ms. Sewell after the talk and screening.
Grace Mirabella Cahan and Jade Hobson, originally scheduled to speak this evening, are unable to attend. We apologize for any inconvenience.
