Rocker chic is HOT this fall 2011…Metallics, leather, studs = love. However, a few of us Phoenicians are rockin’ our own rocker chic accessories. Like me, for example. A guitar pick from my favorite guitarist, Scott Johnson of the Gin Blossoms, inspired my “He Picked Me” necklace. To make your own, you just need a drill with small bit, a pick from your favorite rocker and a chain. Simple, personal and chic.

I had the pleasure of meeting Oday Shakar, the hottest designer in Los Angeles right now, at his trunk show in Scottsdale yesterday. Not only did I meet the talented designer, but I got to try on a couple of his AMAZING pieces, including the dress that Sandra Bullock wore recently. Fabulous.

Yesterday, Oday announced that he will be the closing show at Phoenix Fashion Week! Super excited to see his designs on the runway. What an honor for PFW!

HUB Clothing, one of Scottsdale’s favorite spots for denim, is moving to make room for G Star Raw! Save 20% throughout the new store, just opposite it’s current location in Scottsdale Fashion Square, October 1st. The new G Star RAW store will take HUB’s previous spot and will open the first week of November.

Oday Shakar, the Los Angeles designer who dressed Sandra Bullock at the recent MTV Music Awards, is coming to Scottsdale for the Trends Charitable Fund and Trends Magazine Fashion Show at The Biltmore and to host a private trunk show here on Monday. Oh and of course, he chatted with Fashion Phoenix on his line and what’s to come…

Known for beautiful evening gowns and cocktail dresses, the FIDM graduate worked as a designer in Los Angeles for almost a decade until launching his own line less than two years ago. In such a short time, Oday Shakar has dressed one of Hollywood’s top actresses, Sandra Bullock, as mentioned and actresses Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) and Eva LaRue (CSI Miami). Currently, his collection pieces are only available from his Orange County atelier or private trunk shows. However, plans for label expansion into New York and hopefully our local department stores are currently in development.

We’ll be meeting him this weekend and hopefully getting a chance to try on a few pieces at his private trunk show.  Looking forward to sharing more on the amazing Oday Shakar, and amazingly sweet I may add too! Have a great weekend! Enjoy the show for those of you lucky enough to go! xo
