Today Katy Perry premiered her newest music video, E.T. The immensely talented Kabuki was the makeup artist for the video. He also was a makeup consultant on Tron: Legacy! Three looks were created for the video: Alien, Fawn and Tribal. Kabuki told InStyle, The three looks are like three aspects of the extraterrestrial.

Even before the video was released, many Katy Perry fans created their own alien look and posted makeup tutorials. Kabuki is flattered by the support and said: I think it’s great that they’re excited about it! They understand that participating is what pop culture is all about. It’s about feeling that you’re a part of something. Each look took about six hours to create.

My favorite look is Fawn. The color contrast of bronze, dark brown and black really makes the look stand out. The eye makeup is exaggerated and very Cleopatra-esque. To learn more about Kabuki you can visit his site here.
