Revitalizing Beauty Products

By: Lindsey

Josie Maran Cosmetics have created yet another fantastic product, Argan Day and Night Eye Cream. This item is new for Spring 2011 and is a 2-in-1 product. The lightweight Argan Day Cream diminishes the appearance of fine lines and brightens the skin’s overall appearance while the Argan Night Cream tightens, hydrates, reduces puffiness and wrinkles in the eye area. You can buy this product for $68 online at Josie Maran Cosmetics.

This Brightening Repairing Night Cream by Clarins is the first cream with white flowers to act on both direct and indirect causes of hyperpigmentation. It’s a phenomenal product for brightening the skin and breaking up dark spots. The cream also prevents future discoloration and is enriched with botanical extracts such as Sea Lily and Daisy Extract. This product is available at the Clarin’s website for $65.

Want to treat your skin to a mini vacation? Try the Hot Pure Cleansing Scrub! This gentle facial scrub heats to clean deep into the pores and banish impurities. Actress, Mary-Louise Parker, is a fan of the scrub and had this to say about the product: I just tried Collective Wellbeing’s Hot Pore Scrub, in the shower, and it’s so good! It warms up in your hands and then polishes and purifies. You can buy the Hot Pure Cleansing Scrub for $18 online at Collective Wellbeing.

Fab Fashion Five.

The following items are my favorite fashion picks for this week. If you need to add a few new fun pieces to your wardrobe then you should definitely check out Bec and Bridge. I love the gray dress with sheer sleeves paired with knee-high boots. This look can transition well from Spring/Summer to Autumn/Winter. The A/W 2011 collection, Lovers & Nomads was inspired by the eternal traveler, a globe trotter who loves to collect and salvage trinkets and treasures from their adventures.

Another favorite fashion pick for this week is the Chrysilla Dress by Diane von Furstenberg. The dress features a contrast-print stretch-silk panel at the front and pleating at the front and back.

Erdem’s floral print ankle-wrap sandal from the Spring 2011 show is perfect for a lunch date or party. The floral print almost reminds me of an Impressionism painting which I absolutely love.

Looking for a sensational statement piece? This 18-karat gold necklace by Rosantica is a great accessory to enhance a simplistic outfit.

Velvetine is a designer from Paris who designs gorgeous Italian leather bags. This particular bag is one my favorites because I appreciate the classic yet modern design. The bag is edgy and incredibly practical. Velvetine bags are available at Blue Bag in New York City.

Raising the Bar on Beauty – Park Avenue Blow Dry & The Dry Bar

Two new fabulous beauty bars have just opened up in the Valley, serving style straight up, shaken or curled just the way you like it: Park Avenue Blow Dry in Arcadia and The Dry Bar at The Scottsdale Quarter.

First, Park Avenue Blow Dry, owned by Holli Christensen of Kensington Makeup, recently opened offering ladies of Phoenix/Arcadia blow-drys, makeup, spray tans and mini-facials all for just $35!

Park Avenue offers a great selection of additions, such as scalp massages, up-dos, waxing and more to satisfy the discerning taste of the most posh Park Avenue Princess who loves a one-stop shop for quality beauty (a.k.a., YOU!). For more information, visit PARK AVENUE BLOW DRY.

From The Dry Bar, located at the Scottsdale Quarter, there’s no cuts, no colors, only blow-outs for just $35, with a host of specialty packages, parties, gift sets and even a service for that special underage little lady for just $24. The Dry Bar Scottsdale, stemming from the flagship bar in LA, is the first location in Arizona.  I’m love-drunk with the concept and marketing itself! For more information and to book an appointment online, visit THE DRY BAR.

Sunglasses for Summer!

By: Lindsey

Shade your eyes with a new pair of fashionable sunglasses. There are so many brands and new styles to choose from so where do you begin? Hopefully this little sunglasses guide can help you find the perfect pair. Don’t be afraid to be bold and experiment with new, fun styles. You just might be surprised at what looks good on you.

My first recommendation is vintage Gianni Versace glasses from 1990. These sunglasses are simply stunning in person and the side detail accentuates the design and Versace logo.

Shield your eyes in style with these gorgeous vintage Chanel sunglasses from the 90s. The frame is exceptionally wide to give you overall protection from the sun.

If you’re more into a classic style, why not try ASOS Frosted Keyhole Sunglasses. These glasses are simple and perfect for the gal on a budget.

Looking for something with 50′s flare, then look no further. This polka dot print, cat eye style by ASOS is purr-fect.

If you’re looking for something handmade and lightweight then you might be interested in sunglasses by Mykita. These sunglasses were worn by Lady Gaga and are from the Limited Spring 2010 collection.
