Streaking Awesome! Go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness with Brillare

Brillare Hairdressing Academy is offering “Pink Hair for Hope” – a streak of pink in the form of a hair extension to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

For a $10 donation, clients can choose from one of five shades of pink hair extension. It only takes a few minutes to apply the extension and clients can come back any time and Brillare will remove the extension at no charge. There are two locations: the Scottsdale Quarter and Ahwatukee (I-10 and Chandler Blvd.) Brillare has raised more than $1,500 so far.

Brillare Hairdressing Academy’s Phoenix and Scottsdale locations are teaming up with the “Pink Hair For Hope” campaign to offer clients a lock of SHE by SO.CAP.USA’s signature pink hair extension added to their own locks for a $10 donation. 100% of the net proceeds go to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Color Me Happy with Hair Chalk

With hair chalking, you can complement any outfit with streaks of color. The best part about hair chalking is that there is no commitment. It’s not permanent and comes out with a simple shampoo, which means your hair’s color can change at the same pace as your outfit.

How to Apply Hair Chalk:
When applying the chalk, you always want to use pre-styled hair. Dampen the hair with water or styling spray, apply the chalk, shake the hair to remove any loose chalk, and seal with hairspray. The more you apply, the more vibrant the color.

Beauty Trend Report: What’s Hot for Fall 2012

Fall is nearing and we are falling in love with the newest trends in hair, brought to us this week by Scissors Rox Paper salon in Paradise Valley. The salon, which recently participated in a Phoenix Fashion Week runway event, is a local leader in beauty and style. Here are tips from the salon on how to get your tresses on trend for fall…First, we have been OBSESSED with braiding. Braids were big in the spring and are especially ideal for our hot climate here in Phoenix. A braided style can work at a family gathering or a Scottsdale pool party AND can transition into evening by adding a few curls or a fun accessory.

Second, we are loving contrasting texture for the fall. Combining smooth, sleek sides and front with a highly textured pony or bun are favorites of ours. Even the ever-popular down-styled curls that every celeb rocks (a la Kim Kardashian, etc.) are getting a dose of texture this fall. Our stylists have even had a sneak peek at what the stylists at Bumble and bumble are loving right now and this look will no doubt be gracing the runways in New York soon!

Finally, we can’t forget makeup to pull a total look together! Everyone loves a smoky eye, but it is sometimes a bit “much” for daytime. Our makeup team (lead by Amanda Szarmach and Veronica Chavarria) created a “soft smoky” eye for our recent runway show which combines the drama of a traditional night-out eye with the softness necessary for daytime.
