Pets and their owners can enjoy a posh beauty treatment as they help raise money for RESCUE (Reducing Euthanasia at Shelters through Commitment and Underlying Education).
 
Mane Attraction Salon has partnered with RESCUE, a local nonprofit animal rescue organization, to host the eleventh annual Beauty to the RESCUE.  For a minimum donation ($35-$50 for haircuts, $10 for Deep Conditioning Masque, $20 for Blow Dry Style and $20 for Makeup Applications), anyone can partake in a day of personal pampering all while raising funds to support RESCUE in its fight against pet euthanasia.

Last November I wrote about Josie Maran Cosmetics and my adoration for the Argan Lip Gloss. Recently, Josie Maran Cosmetics added a few new products to her brand. What defines a style icon? To me a style icon is someone who is smart, strong, independent and innovative. A style icon loves to experiment and have fun with fashion, making it seem effortless. Two of my favorite fashion inspirations are Iman and Audrey Hepburn.

Iman (Iman Abdulmajid) is Somali-American supermodel, actress and entrepreneur. She was discovered by fashion photographer Peter Beard. A year later, she was modeling for Vogue in 1975. Iman became an inspiration and muse to many including designer Yves Saint-Laurent. She started her own cosmetics firm in 1994 and is currently involved in numerous charitable endeavors. Iman works with the Children’s Defense Fund and is a spokesperson for the Keep a Child Alive program.

Audrey Hepburn is another one of my fashion inspirations. I’ve always admired Audrey’s impeccable sense of style and her charity work. She had a graceful, humble spirit and was the epitome of chic. Audrey was born Edda Kathleen van Heemstra Hepburn-Ruston and trained as a dental assistant before making it big. Her famous “little black dress” from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, designed by Givenchy, was sold at auction for $920,000.

Did you see your Groupon today?? $25 for $50 of merchandise at GAP! Love it! I got one and may be buying more as a Groupon gift…trying to be pro-active for birthdays and holidays.
