As we warm up, time to start incorporating a bit of bright warmth into your wardrobe. The hottest color this season, Tangerine. But for many of us, the color may be a bit too bold for a head-to-toe look. Taste a little tangerine by adding just a touch to your accessories. And mix with a bold fuschia or pink to tone down the all-over-orange.
Eva Franco Dice is Nice Dress – Mod Cloth $248, Essie “Orange, It’s Obvious” Nail color $8, Haskell Bracelet Fuschi & Orange at Macy’s $28, Antik Batik Orange Bracelet from Stylebop.com $49, Karen Walker Eyewear $250, Diane Von Furstenberg Botswana Ballet Flat $1,653.
While many of us wait all year long to unleash our best suits and frocks on the occasion known for its high glamour, this season’s trend is calling for a full fledge pre-New Year’s Eve celebration.
Add sparkle your wardrobe:
Take note from exemplary starlets like Camilla Belle and Nicole Richie who are leading the trend in gold sequin tops.
Other trends include adding a touch of glitter like this skinny glitter belt from J.Crew to a dress or bottom.
Shoes are also getting in on the glitter action, which is why adding a pair of glitter Louboutins on your wish list isn’t a bad idea.
Look sleek in leather:
For an effortless look that can take you from day to night, pair faux waxy leather leggings with a solid-colored top, similar to fashionista Lauren Conrad’s look here:
A touch of faux leather can add edge to any look. This Elsa jacket from Ann Taylor is not only ‘incredibly stylish’, it’s also ultra versatile for the season’s numerous festivities.
Keep warm in faux fur
Ever since the fashion gods recognized faux-fur for its ability to help troubling consumers in an environment-conscious population, it’s happily rocked styles in the runway and on the streets.
This season, faux fur jackets will not only keep you comfortably warm, you’re guaranteed to make a noted entrance before revealing whatever classic piece you have hidden underneath.
Looks like this Juicy Couture faux rabbit fur jacket are statement pieces that will easily survive long after the New Year. If a touch of faux-fur is more up your alley, accessorize with a chic leopard print beret or a posh scarf like this piece from Michael Kors.
Trends – love them or hate them. They come, they go; you’re in, you’re out. It’s the fashion yo-yo diet of binging and purging what’s hot and not in your closet as the seasons come and go.
It’s often hard on our wallets to stay up-to-date with the latest trends. So I often find myself skimming stores like the Marshall’s in Scottsdale ( Shea and the 101) for trend pieces that mix and match with my closet staples, for a look that’s still in the fashion loop.
Here’s what I’m loving right now, found around town at Valley Marshall’s and TJ Maxx stores.
1. Animal Print Booties
2. One Shoulder Cocktail Dresses
3. Cowl Neck Sweaters
4. Blazers – black or grey. A must!
5. Faux Fur Trimmed Jackets
