MAXXANISTA TREND ALERT

Trends – love them or hate them. They come, they go; you’re in, you’re out. It’s the fashion yo-yo diet of binging and purging what’s hot and not in your closet as the seasons come and go.

It’s often hard on our wallets to stay up-to-date with the latest trends. So I often find myself skimming stores like the Marshall’s in Scottsdale ( Shea and the 101) for trend pieces that mix and match with my closet staples, for a look that’s still in the fashion loop.

Here’s what I’m loving right now, found around town at Valley Marshall’s and TJ Maxx stores.

1. Animal Print Booties
2. One Shoulder Cocktail Dresses
3. Cowl Neck Sweaters
4. Blazers – black or grey. A must!
5. Faux Fur Trimmed Jackets

GOD SAVE MY SHOES

The new documentary, God Save My Shoes, explores the intimate relationship between women and their shoes, with its Southwest debut at the Phoenix Art Museum on Friday, October 28th at 7:00 p.m. Glimpse into Vogue’s fabled shoe closet, “Oohh and Ahh” for Louboutins, bask in Blahniks and lust for Lanvin in this fancy footwear filled film described by Harper’s Bazaar as a “must see” for shoe lovers.

From the film producers:

To understand how shoes have come to hold such a pivotal place in pop culture, sexuality and women’s lives, God Save My Shoes turned to many of those who play a role in the global shoe phenomenon: Extreme shoe lovers, fashion historians and editors, psychologists, sex experts, shoe fetishists, and star designers Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Walter Steiger, Pierre Hardy, Bruno Frisoni, and Robert Clergerie, along with celebrities such as Fergie, Kelly Rowland and Dita Von Teese.

Tickets are $25 and a new pair of Manolo Blahniks for the event can cost at least $495.
